1. The first step in building a model boat from scratch
is to obtain a set of plans for the style of boat that you are interested
in.
2. On the set of plans you will find a drawing which shows the shape
of the bulkheads which will give the boat the shape of the hull Picture
1.
One problem is that the plan only shows half of the bulk head as shown below.
The boat that I will be building the KNASKA has 8 bulkheads in the boat. So
I take the plan to my local Photo Copy Shop and have this plan copied 8 times
1 for each of the bulkheads Picture 2.
3. It should be mentioned that depending where you get your plans from the bulkheads may be shown in full on the plans. If you get the plans from a model boat supplier these bulkheads will probably shown in full but a lot of the plans that I get are like in picture 1.
